Libido Boosters

Looking For Libido Boosters?

Television commercials in recent years have placed great emphasis on libido boosters, promising good times, although there are a few potential side effects mentioned that are a bit on the scary side. Still, if a pill does the job, it's hard to say no to it. Rather than rely on pills to help get your through the that "just right" moment, why not try natural libido boosters? It may take a little time to get your libido where you think it should be, but once you're there, you tend to stay there. It's like the law of physical inertia. Things in motion tend to remain in motion, and things at rest tend to remain at rest. Eat the right foods and take care of yourself mentally and physically, and you'll tend to "remain in motion".

Libido Is Sexual Desire - Just what is libido? It's a question worth answering since definitions vary from the simple and straightforward to the long and drawn out. Essentially libido is sexual desire. Men have a tendency to express it more readily than women, though it is not by any means lacking in the opposite sex.

Many confuse libido or sexual drive with sexual ability, and some of the commercials focus in the latter. Sexual drive is really the key however, and having it depends a lot on how we feel about ourselves and how we take care of ourselves.

Even the most energetic among us need libido boosters at times. When your libido is low, the tendency may be to head for the drug store, but there is an abundance of libido boosters all around us, some acting as aphrodisiacs, others acting mainly to make us feel good. Feeling good and having a good dose of self esteem are the two best libido boosters of all.

Foods As Libido Boosters - Some foods contain nutrition elements like antioxidants which tend to promote sexual functioning, while others, asparagus being an example, can excite by merely looking sexy. Probably the best known aphrodisiac among the foods we eat is the oyster. The oyster's secret is zinc. Zinc promotes fertility, and boosts libido.

Ginkgo biloba is another booster. This herb improves blood flow to the brain and to the sexual organs, important factors in boosting libido. Although many herbs and herbal supplements are "guaranteed" to improve sexual enhancement, results can vary widely from person to person, no doubt influenced by the temperament and feelings of the person involved. If you feel down and depressed, a bushel of ginkgo biloba leaves or a quart of raw oysters probably won't give you much more than indigestion. If you don't feel like searching for ginkgo biloba leaves or supplements, grow chives, in your garden or in a window sill. Adding a few chives to your meals on occasion is a good way to boost libido. Chives are mineral-rich and mineral rich foods boost libido. Two other herbs, ginseng and kava kava have great reputations as being libido boosters. Ginseng helps in boosting hormone production in men and kava kava fights off depression, a major enemy of libido.

Feel Good About Yourself - Rather than focusing on pills or other advertised libido boosters, take a step back and look at your lifestyle habits. There are no doubt a few places where you can make changes either to boost your libido or avoid losing it. A healthy lifestyle sums it all up. Alcohol and smoking aren't great libido boosters, although alcohol in small amounts can at least cause a lapse in judgment or free up your inhibitions. There isn't anything good to be said about smoking in this regard, unless you believe smelling like an ashtray is a turn on. Being overweight doesn't help either. If you're significantly overweight, circulation can be affected, which can influence your libido, but most importantly, as one gains weight self esteem tends to go the opposite direction, and a loss of self esteem often translates in to a loss of libido. Keeping fit is a great libido booster. Keep fit, eat well, avoid bad habits, work at feeling good about yourself, and your very lifestyle may provide all the boosting your libido needs.
